What does a cooling pad and fan system for?
During summer months, soaring outdoor temperatures render natural ventilation insufficient for greenhouse cooling. An effective forced-air ventilation system becomes essential. Among cooling methods, a cooling pad and fan system stands out for its affordability, efficiency, and ability to actively manage both air temperature and circulation within the greenhouse environment.
Working Theory
Leveraging the principles of evaporative cooling, the pad and fan system effectively cools greenhouses during hot weather. A pump delivers water to a specially designed cooling pad, while a fan simultaneously draws in hot outside air. As the air passes through the moistened pad, water evaporates, absorbing heat and lowering the greenhouse temperature.
The system comprises several key components: paper cooling pads, a water circulation system, exhaust fans, and an aluminum framework for support. For added convenience, compatibility with intelligent control systems or timers allows for automated operation. Water evaporation from the pads is the primary mechanism for temperature reduction within the greenhouse.
To ensure optimal cooling performance, it's crucial to maintain a working distance of no more than 60 meters between the cooling pad and the exhaust fan
Cooling pad:
Thickness 100mm, 150mm, for options
Height1m, 1.5m, 2m or double layer
Length: customized according to your greenhouse size
Exhaust fan: We may design the 1-4 fans for each span according to your local temperature, and growing requirements. And also with different fan sizes for options.
Backwater system: The backwater system is the main role in having this evaporation principle work.It includes the aluminum framework for the water pads and necessary accessories for the water circulation system, such as water pipes, filters, water pumps, kinds of fittings for pipes, etc.
The light trap for option
Due to the special demand of the cannabis growing period, it should create a 100% blackout environment. We can also offer a light tap for cooling pads and exhaust fans to prevent the sunlight from outside.
Determining Exhaust Fan Requirements for Greenhouse Cooling
Selecting the ideal number and size of exhaust fans for your greenhouse ventilation system hinges on three key factors:
1.Greenhouse Width: The width directly impacts the volume of air requiring circulation. Wider greenhouses naturally require more airflow for efficient cooling.
2.Local Temperature: Hotter climates necessitate a higher air exchange rate. This translates to needing more or larger fans compared to greenhouses in cooler regions.
3.Growing Requirements: Specific plant varieties have unique temperature preferences. Crops with lower heat tolerance will demand a more robust ventilation system compared to heat-resistant plants.
